Jan. 6 Hearing Focuses on Ties Between Trump Allies and Extremist Groups

The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol held its seventh public hearing Tuesday, working to show how far-right extremists answered Trump’s call to come for a big rally in Washington.  Over the last 11 months, the committee has interviewed hundreds of witnesses and pored over thousands of hours of video footage and more than 100,000 pages of documents. House investigators are trying to make the case that Trump’s lies about the 2020 election led directly to his supporters’ insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
